Your bubble tea has arrived. The tea is made, the popping boba is already inside, and the next decision is whether to drink it from the can or pour it into a glass.
Tempo’s fruit bubble tea cans are ready to drink. You don’t need to add water, brew tea or prepare a separate topping. Here’s how to get your can ready, serve it your way and look after the rest of your order.
What’s inside a Tempo bubble tea can?
Fruit tea and popping boba come together in the same drink. The boba have a liquid centre that bursts when you bite them, giving you another flavour alongside the tea.
This guide focuses on serving your can. If you’re still choosing what to order, our beginner’s guide to bubble tea explains the flavours and the difference between popping boba and chewy tapioca pearls.
How to serve your bubble tea
1. Start with a chilled can
Keep your cans in the fridge and take one out when you’re ready to enjoy it. Have a wide bubble tea straw to hand, plus a glass if you’d like to pour your drink.
2. Follow the guide supplied with your order
Check the serving and opening instructions that came with your cans. Keep the can upright when opening and use the method shown in your guide.
3. Choose your can or a glass
To drink from the can, use a wide straw so you can enjoy the tea and boba together. An ordinary narrow drinking straw may leave the pearls behind.
For a glass, leave enough room for the drink and any ice you want to add. Pour slowly and make sure the boba goes in too. A clear glass lets you see the tea and pearls as you drink.
Ice is optional. It will dilute the tea as it melts, so start with a chilled drink and add as much or as little as you prefer.
Sharing one flavour between tasting cups
If friends want to try a small amount, put out a separate clean cup for each person. Pour a little at a time between the cups so one person doesn’t get all the tea while someone else gets most of the boba.
Keep the original can nearby so everyone can check the flavour and product information. Use a suitable straw or a clean spoon for the boba, depending on how you’re serving the samples.
There’s no need to open every flavour at once. Start with the ones people want to try and leave the remaining cans stored according to their instructions.
How to store your bubble tea cans
For maximum freshness, we recommend storing your cans in the fridge. If refrigeration is unavailable, keep unopened cans in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight. Once opened, refrigerate and consume within three days. Follow the best before date supplied with your order.
Plan which cans you’ll open first, especially if you’re sharing a selection over several days.
Taking cans to a friend’s house? Plan how you’ll keep them chilled during the journey and where they’ll go when you arrive. For a gathering, bring out the drinks people are ready for and keep the rest refrigerated.
A few serving questions
Do I need to add water?
No. Tempo bubble tea cans are already mixed. Tea concentrate is a separate product for making your own drink and has its own mixing directions.
Do I need to cook or add the boba?
No. The popping boba is already in the can and ready to enjoy with the tea.
Can I drink it without ice?
Yes. Serve it chilled straight from the fridge. Ice is a serving choice, rather than something you need to make the drink.
Choose your next can
Clear a space in the fridge, choose a flavour and keep a wide straw ready. Your next bubble tea break can start there.
