Our Rainboba Charity Campaign

When our Tempo stores closed due to lockdown, we were looking for ways we could have a positive impact while we couldn’t operate as normal. Despite the difficulties so many have faced due to covid-19, the community spirit shown has been one of the positives we’ve taken from the situation and we wanted to do something to help. After brainstorming some ideas, we came up with the idea for our charity campaign. Inspired by all the rainbows displayed in windows up and down the country, we decided to centre our campaign around our existing drink, the Rainboba. We decided to donate all proceeds from our Rainboba drink in store, and our Rainbow popping boba bought online, to charity. As well as the Rainboba, we decided to create some charity t-shirts spreading a positive message.

The next task we were faced with was choosing which charity to support! We saw so many organisations doing great work and it wasn’t an easy choice. We wanted to donate to a charity that was not only supporting people in the height of the pandemic, but would continue to be helpful as we moved into different stages. As the infection rates slow down and people gradually return to their normal lives, we think it is really important to remember all the gratitude we had for those who helped us through! That is why we chose to support Our Frontline in partnership with Mind.

This charity was set up by Mind, alongside Samaritans, Hospice UK, Shout and the Royal Foundation. The focus of Our Frontline is to support the mental health of frontline workers round the clock, even when face to face support is reduced. As communities and economies are rebuilt, we love the focus the charity puts on rebuilding the mental wellbeing of workers too. This includes NHS staff, as well as social care workers, emergencies services and other essential workers.

To say thank you at a more local level, we’ve also been donating teas to NHS staff at our Glasgow hospitals. We did this in partnership with two social enterprises, Soul Food Sisters and Gilded Lily CIC, who have been donating homemade cakes and sewing PPE.

If you’d like to support our campaign, you can buy our Rainboba drinks in store or order our rainbow boba and charity t-shirts online. We wanted the t-shirts we created to reflect the positivity of this campaign and we think we’ve done exactly that with our slogans and designs.

Keep up to date with the campaign by following us on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, or checking out the Just Giving page, and remember to stay positive! 🌈
